The ACT

In Louisiana, the ACT is the primary College Entrance Exam. For this reason, we offer the ACT at Muslim Academy on our campus twice each school year. In addition, students are encouraged to prepare for and take the ACT additional times in their Sophomore, Junior and Senior years of High School. The ACT is also used by LOSFA (Louisiana Office of Student Financial Aid) to determine a graduate's TOPS Scholarship eligibility.

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment is the simultaneous enrollment of a student at both high school and college in which the student receives credit on both their high school and college transcripts for the same course. Students may enroll in college courses at local technical, community and/or four-year colleges. Students enrolled in a college course follow the college curriculum.

With Dual Enrollment, students may begin accumulating college credits while still in high school, thus providing a smoother transition to college after high school graduation. Students also have the opportunity to complete college faster by earning college credits while still in high school.

Students must meet the admission standards of the college awarding the credit. Admissions standards vary between technical colleges, community colleges, and four-year universities. Contact the College Guidance Counselor to discuss admission standards and other details regarding dual enrollment.

Credit Recovery

There are 24 credits required to graduate and earn a diploma at Muslim Academy. Any course in which a student earns a failing grade of 'F', must be retaken as a Credit Recovery class. The credit may be recovered here on campus if scheduling permits, or it may need to be taken as an online course at the expense of the student. If you need information about taking Credit Recovery, please speak with the Guidance Counselor.
